Concept 2 of 3
Watch on YouTubeVideoLogical inferences
Given some statements, decide what must be true.
Be strict: only what's clearly forced by the statements is true. Don't assume.
Example
All cats have tails. Whiskers is a cat. → Whiskers has a tail. ✓
All cats have tails. Whiskers has a tail. → Whiskers is a cat? Not necessarily (dogs have tails too).
All cats have tails. Whiskers has a tail. → Whiskers is a cat? Not necessarily (dogs have tails too).
💡 Tip:Drawing Venn diagrams (circles inside circles) makes these obvious.
