Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 April 2026

OpenOlympiad is a free practice platform for Class 6 olympiad prep (IMO, NSO, iOM, iOS). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to the terms below. We've kept this document short and in plain English — the goal is clarity, not legalese.

1. The service

OpenOlympiad gives you free access to chapter notes, practice questions across four difficulty tiers, and progress tracking. It is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis. We don't charge students, and we don't guarantee uptime, exam scores, or any specific learning outcome — we're a practice tool, not a coaching institute.

2. Accounts

You can sign up with an email and password, or with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe. If you sign up as a teacher, please use your real school email — that's what lets us auto-claim your school and let your colleagues join.

For students under the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction, a parent or teacher should set up the account on the student's behalf. See the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Acceptable use

  • Don't scrape the question bank in bulk — it's built by hand and shared in good faith.
  • Don't impersonate a teacher you aren't.
  • Don't submit copyrighted material as a contribution unless you hold the rights.
  • Don't use the platform to harass or dox anyone.
  • Don't try to break the platform (probing, automated abuse, etc.).

We can suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules. We'll try to give you a heads-up first when we can.

4. Teacher contributions

When you submit a question, correction, or concept edit through the contribution forms, you confirm that the content is your original work (or used with permission), and you grant OpenOlympiad a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, edit, and redistribute that content as part of the free question bank — including in future versions of the catalog. Approved contributions are credited toward your contributor badge.

We may decline, edit, or later remove any contribution at our discretion (e.g. for accuracy, fit, or duplication).

5. Donations

When donations are enabled, payments are processed by Stripe. Donations fund authoring and hosting. They are voluntary, generally non-refundable, and grant no commercial rights or service guarantee.

6. Intellectual property

Question bank content, concept notes, badges, and the OpenOlympiad name and logo belong to the project. You may use the content for personal study or to teach your class. You may not republish the bank on another site or sell it.

Olympiad names (IMO, NSO, iOM, iOS) and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any olympiad organising body.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided “as is”, with no express or implied warranties. To the extent permitted by law, OpenOlympiad and its operator are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. If you find a serious bug, please write to hello@openolympiad.org.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by emailing us. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we may discontinue the service entirely if circumstances require.

9. Changes

We'll update the “last updated” date when these terms change. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
