Free olympiad practice that started as a dad's HTML file.

OpenOlympiad is a growing free practice library for IMO, NSO, iOM, and iOS olympiad prep β€” built by a parent, refined by teachers, used by hundreds of students. The whole thing stays free. Donations keep it that way.

How it started

A 6th-grader, his dad, and one HTML file.

A nerdy dad sat down one weekend and built a small HTML page for his son β€” Class 6, preparing for the IMO and NSO. He pair-programmed with Claude Code over a few late nights. Just chapters, concepts, a few hundred questions. Nothing fancy. Just enough to drill.

The kid started using it. Then he showed it to a friend. Then to a few more. Soon their teacher noticed and asked if she could try it with her class. She came back with a list: β€œcan you add hard-tier? mock papers? a way to track who's done what?”

One feature at a time, the project grew. More teachers wanted in. More schools asked. The dad and Claude Code kept building, the students kept solving. You're reading the result.

The catalog is growing.

20
chapters across Math + Science
1,500+
practice questions, four difficulty tiers each chapter
4
olympiad patterns: IMO Β· iOM Β· NSO Β· iOS

And it's growing β€” every week we add new questions, refine explanations, and extend coverage. Teachers can contribute directly (more on that below).

🏫 How school whitelisting works

  1. One teacher signs up with their school email.
  2. The school's domain is auto-claimed; they become the school admin.
  3. Other teachers from the same domain auto-join.
  4. Teachers create groups, share invite links, monitor progress.

Want to onboard officially? Use the contact form so we know you're coming and can help with first-week setup.

Schools

Get your school onboarded.

Any teacher with your school's email domain can claim the school. From there, invites flow downhill: teachers add their classes, students join via link, and you get a unified view of who's practicing what.

Free forever. ❀️

We don't run ads. We don't charge students. We don't sell data. The site stays alive because parents, teachers, and well-wishers chip in. If OpenOlympiad helped your kid, even a small one-time donation funds another month of question authoring.

Made by parents and teachers, for students. Built nights and weekends with Claude Code. Open-access. No paywall.
