Watch on YouTubeVideoOpen vs closed circuit
Closed circuit — complete loop, current flows, device works.
Open circuit — loop broken somewhere (switch off, wire loose, bulb fused). No current.
Short circuit — + and − connected directly without a load (like a bulb). Huge current → wires heat up → fire risk!
Example
Dropping metal foil across battery terminals = short circuit. Dangerous.
💡 Tip:Fuses and circuit breakers in houses exist to break the circuit automatically if current gets too high.
