Scientists draw circuits with symbols instead of pictures:
- Cell — long + short parallel lines (+ and −)
- Battery — multiple cells in series
- Wire — straight line
- Switch — angled break in the line
- Bulb — circle with a cross inside
Circuit diagrams are cleaner than pictures and universally understood.
Example
Instead of drawing a cell with body and label, you just draw |‖ and the meaning is clear.
