Watch on YouTubeVideoEquivalent fractions & simplest form
Multiply or divide TOP and BOTTOM by the same non-zero number → you get an equivalent fraction (same value, different look).
1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 50/100 = 0.5 = 50%
Simplest (lowest) form: divide top and bottom by their HCF.
Example
Simplify 12/18. HCF(12, 18) = 6. Divide both by 6 → 2/3.
💡 Tip:Cross-multiply test: a/b = c/d if a×d = b×c.
