A fraction shows a part of a whole — a piece of pizza, a slice of cake, a portion of an hour.
3/4 means: cut something into 4 equal parts, take 3.
- Top number = numerator (how many you have)
- Bottom number = denominator (total equal parts)
Example
A pizza cut into 8 slices. You eat 3. You had 3/8 of the pizza.
💡 Tip:Fractions = decimals = percentages, just different languages for the same amount.
