Concept 2 of 9Foundation
Watch on YouTubeVideoHabitat: an organism's home
A habitat is the specific place where a plant or animal lives — providing food, shelter, water, and the right climate.
Major habitat types:
- Terrestrial (on land): forest, grassland, desert, mountain, polar, garden
- Aquatic (in water): pond, lake, river, sea, ocean, rock pools
- Aerial: air (primarily flying)
- Amphibian: both water and land
Different habitats demand different survival tricks.
Example
A polar bear lives in the Arctic (polar habitat). A cactus lives in the desert. A fish lives in water. Swap them and they'd perish.
💡 Tip:Habitat = location + food + shelter + climate, all working together.
