A balanced diet has the right PROPORTIONS of all 6 nutrients + water + roughage.
Food pyramid (bottom = eat most, top = least):
- Whole grains, vegetables, fruits (most)
- Dairy, pulses, eggs, fish, meat
- Fats, oils, sugar (least)
Food hygiene:
- Wash hands before eating/cooking.
- Wash fruits and veggies.
- Cook meat/fish thoroughly.
- Refrigerate leftovers.
- Don't eat too much junk/street food.
Example
A thali (rice, roti, dal, sabzi, salad, curd, pickle) is a beautifully balanced meal by design — thousands of years of wisdom.
💡 Tip:Balanced doesn't mean boring. Keep rotating foods in each group weekly.
