Watch on YouTubeVideoPrime factorization (factor tree)
Every whole number > 1 can be written as a product of primes in exactly ONE way. That's its "DNA."
Draw a factor tree: keep splitting until only primes remain.
Example
84 = 2 × 42 = 2 × 2 × 21 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 7 = 2² × 3 × 7.
100 = 2 × 2 × 5 × 5 = 2² × 5².
100 = 2 × 2 × 5 × 5 = 2² × 5².
💡 Tip:Always start with the smallest prime (2) and work up.
