Watch on YouTubeVideoWhat is a pattern, really?
A pattern is anything that follows a rule. Wallpaper, your timetable, a song's chorus — all patterns.
In math, a pattern is a list of numbers or shapes where each item is built from the previous by a fixed rule.
The single question to ask: "What rule takes me from one term to the next?"
Example
2, 4, 6, 8, ? → Rule "add 2" → 10.
3, 9, 27, 81, ? → Rule "× 3" → 243.
3, 9, 27, 81, ? → Rule "× 3" → 243.
💡 Tip:Always ask: what did I do to the last number to get the next one?
