Ranking in a row

If a person's rank from the front is F and from the back is B, the total number in the row is F + B − 1 (the person is counted once on each side, so subtract 1).

Example
Riya is 7th from the front and 11th from the back. Total students = 7 + 11 − 1 = 17.
💡 Tip:If a question asks for total, use F + B − 1. If it asks for someone else's position, draw the row.
